Dammer incense, also known as dammar or cat's eye, is a resin obtained from various coniferous trees that grow in eastern areas where it is used as incense.

This resin is in a viscous state with a strong aromatic smell that loses a little intensity when it hardens. It is fragile, difficult to find, transparent and easily soluble in ether, benzol and chloroform. With turpentine oil it forms a highly appreciated transparent varnish.
Dammer is also a generic Indian name used for other various resins.
